Olivier Notebaert received his M.Sc. degree in Electronics in 1984 at the Toulouse Polytechnic Institute (ENSEEIHT). He dedicated all his career to space electronics systems and is now expert in on-board processing architecture within the Space Systems division of Airbus Defence and Space. He has a 30 years' experience as on-board data systems engineer on various space programs including observation, science and telecommunications satellites, the International Space Station, the Ariane 5 launcher and planetary exploration programs. From this experience, he has strongly committed himself in promoting international standards and technology harmonisation on future space systems and is one of the key industrial contributor to the European Committee for Space Standardisation (ECSS) for on-boards digital interfaces such as Mil-Std-1553B, CAN bus and SpaceWire networks. Olivier Notebaert has been leading Airbus Defence and Space advanced studies for high performance digital processors in space and is now defining the Space Systems division R&T strategy on the development of future embedded on board data processing and software solutions.
