Fernando Martinez received his M.Sc. degree in Solid State Physics at the Autonoma University of Madrid in 1995. He worked as a Component Engineer in industry for some years, mostly with EEE parts such as those used in TTC and passive RF equipment. He joined ESA's Product Assurance Department in 2003, and has provided technical support in the field of components engineering to several ESA missions including Herschel/Plank, Lisa Pathfinder, GAIA, Proba2, Alphasat. He has also worked in Product Assurance for some of ESA's Telecom satellites. Since 6 years ago he supports ESA's commitment to standardisation and qualification of EEE components as coordinator of Quality Assurance management with more than 30 ESCC qualified manufacturers, and as ESCC Qualification manager at ESA.
