Richard J.E. Jansen (M'07) received his B.Sc. degree in physics from Imperial College London (UK) and his Ph.D. in semiconductor physics from Cambridge (UK) University in 1989 and 1996 respectively. From 1993 to 1999 he worked as digital and system IC engineer for Cambridge Consultants Ltd (UK). Subsequently he worked as analogue radio IC engineer at Catena Microelectronics (now NXP) in Delft (NL). From 2006 at Greenpeak Technologies in Utrecht (NL) he was responsible for the development of the first generation single chip low-power IEEE 802.14.5 transceiver. In 2008 he joined the micro-electronics section of the European Space Research and Technology Centre in Noordwijk, The Netherlands.
