The Clean Space Team is pleased to host the "ESA In-Orbit Servicing industrial workshop", which will take place online on the 12th July 2022, in preparation of the ESA Ministerial Council Meeting in Q4 2022.

In 2021, ESA published an ITT to commercialise In-Orbit Servicing, with the aim to bring together a service provider and a customer for the servicing of a spacecraft. The industrial teams were free to select the service from one or more of the following: Attitude Orbital Control System (AOCS) take-over, assembly, refurbishment, manufacturing or refueling. Now, four primes have been selected and are maturating their mission concept.

At the Ministerial Council Meeting later this year, ESA will present a proposal to place contract(s) with Service Provider(s) and Customer(s) for performing an In-Orbit Servicing mission.

This strategy will be further explained in the first half of the workshop, where ESA will introduce the Space Safety Programme and the work done so far on In-Orbit Servicing in preparation of the Ministerial Council Meeting. Afterwards, the four primes will take the stage and present their mission concepts.

The aim of the second half of the workshop is to bring together primes and suppliers to facilitate potential future collaborations. This will be achieved through dedicated B2B meetings, to be arranged in advance.

The draft agenda of the workshop is outlined below:

10.30-10.45: Introduction of the Space Safety Programme by Holger Krag, Head of Space Safety
10.45-11.15: Introduction of In-Orbit Servicing by the Clean Space Team
