DESCRIPTION:The access to this event\, both on-site and online\, is reserv
ed to the persons who have already registered to the event. The link to th
e event will not be shared outside of the attendees. It is currently no l
onger possible to register for the event.\nOn 19 March 2026\, the European
Space Agency (ESA) will host an Industry Information Day on the In‑Orb
it Demonstration and Validation (IOD/IOV) and Technology Development activ
ities in the frame of the European Resilience from Space for Earth Observa
tion (ERS‑EO) Element 1 programme at ESA/ESTEC (and online). The event i
s intended for industrial and institutional entities with an interest in t
he programme. \nThe objective of the event is:\nTo increase awareness of
the ERS‑EO In‑Orbit Demonstration and Validation (IOD/IOV) activities
and of the ERS-EO Technology Development activities.\nThe European Resilie
nce from Space for Earth Observation (ERS‑EO) Programme is designed to p
repare and accelerate the future European Earth‑Observation Governmental
Service (EOGS). Working closely with the European Union and ESA Member St
ates\, it supports Europe’s ambition to strengthen defence readiness and
  ensure access to resilient\, autonomous\, space‑based Earth‑observati
on capabilities.\nThe European Union plans to implement EOGS under the 202
8–2034 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF)\, providing enhanced situat
ional awareness to support preparedness\, decision‑making\, and the acti
ons of the Union and its Member States in the fields of security and defen
ce. It will deliver secure\, reliable\, timely\, persistent and targeted s
 pace‑based Earth‑observation data\, products and information\, reinfor
cing existing and planned capabilities.\nERS‑EO Element 1 serves as th
e preparatory phase for EOGS. Guided by consolidated user needs defined un
der the responsibility of the European Commission\, Element 1 aims to es
tablish the foundations for the future programme. As part of this programm
e:\n\nIn‑Orbit Demonstration and Validation (IOD/IOV) activities will pr
ovide targeted\, short‑term in‑orbit experiments delivering early proo
f‑of‑concept ahead of the 2028 Ministerial Conference. These activitie
s are organised into four thematics\, which require further consolidation
before potential adoption as operational features of the future system:\n\
 nA. IOD‑A: Low Luminance / Night Vision\nB. IOD‑B: Dynamic Satellite T
asking\nC. IOD‑C: Reduced information age (i.e. data latency from acquis
ition to product delivery)\nD. IOD‑D: Satellite Super Agility\n\n\nTechn
ology Development activities will mature mission‑critical technologies f
or EOGS with the objective of reaching TRL 6 by 2028. Coordinated with w
ider ESA initiatives such as GSTP and TDE\, these developments will addres
s the immediate needs of the future EOGS Space Mission (EOGS‑SM). They w
ill primarily focus on subsystem‑level integration and testing using com
ponents or units that have already reached sufficient maturity. The themat
ics under consideration cover platform\, payload\, secure links\, security
features and further areas across the space and ground segments.\n\nThe I
ndustry Information Day will introduce the frame of the ERS‑EO Element 1
programme programme following discussions of the Implementation plan at t
he February PBEO\, with focus on the IOD/IOV activities and the Technology
Development activities. Bilateral meetings with ESA Executive will be org
anised on demand for on‑site participants.\nRegistration for this event
is open to stakeholders from all ESA Member States. Eventual resulting pr
ocurement activities from the ERS-EO Programme are restricted to entities
from the Participating States which\, by the time of the Contract award de
cision\, will be a participating State in Element 1 of the ERS-EO Programm
 e. To date\, these are Austria\, Belgium\, Czech Republic\, Denmark\, Finl
 and\, France\, Germany\, Greece\, Hungary\, Ireland\, Italy\, Netherlands\
 , Norway\, Poland\, Portugal\, Slovenia\, Spain and Switzerland - Canadian
entities may also be eligible provided that the Arrangement between ESA a
nd the Government of Canada regarding participation in the ERS-EO Programm
e has entered into force.Eventual resulting procurement activities from th
e General Support Technology Programme (GSTP) are open to entities from Pa
rticipating States of GSTP\, which are currently all ESA Member States and
Associated Member States.\nDay Schedule\nThe ERS-EO Information day will
start at 09:00\, in the Erasmus High-Bay at ESA/ESTEC and on Webex. \n\nT
he morning will be dedicated to presenting the upcoming ERS-EO activities.
\nA buffet will be served for lunch. \nThe afternoon will start with a ge
neral Q&A session\, before moving to bilateral meetings with ESA Executive
s\, located in meeting rooms in the ERASMUS building. In parallel\, meetin
gs room will be made available for B2B meetings. The day is planned to clo
se at 18:30.\n\nDetailed timetable is available here.\nRegistrations\nRegi
strations are mandatory to attend the event\, both for online and in-perso
n attendance and will close on Wednesday 11/03/2026 at 23:59. Please indic
ate in the registration form whether you would like to attend the event in
-person or online and whether you are interested in a bilateral meeting wi
th ESA Executives.\nMore details on how to reach ESTEC can be found here.\
nBilateral meetings\nIn-person attendees will have the opportunity to regi
ster for bilateral meetings with ESA executives. The matching of your comp
any with an ESA Executive will be done on the basis of your answer to the
registration form (company activity\, interest in specific studies\, etc).
Attributions will be done on a first-come/first-served basis. Information
about the time and meeting room will be communicated to you ahead of the
event. There should only be one request per company\, registrants are kind
ly asked to coordinate internally.\nB2B meetings\nMeeting rooms will be ma
de available for B2B meetings but the organization of these meeting is ent
irely left up to the attendees. A signing sheet will be provided on the da
y to manage the rooms allocations.\n\nhttps://indico.esa.int/event/627/
