DESCRIPTION:EcoDesign Industry Days 2026\nOrganised in collaboration with
the Spanish Space Agency (AEE)\nJoin us at the European Space Astronomy Ce
ntre (ESAC) in Madrid for the first edition of the EcoDesign Industry Days
\, following the successful pilot held in May.The event is a two-day works
hop bringing together space professionals\, engineers\, environmental spec
ialists and industry representatives to advance the integration of ecodesi
gn and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) approaches in the space sector.\nAs spa
ce activities continue to grow\, understanding and reducing their environm
ental impacts is becoming increasingly important. This workshop will provi
de participants with insights into ecodesign principles\, environmental re
gulations\, and practical approaches to applying LCA methodologies through
out the space system lifecycle.\nThe event will provide a platform to exch
ange knowledge\, discuss ongoing ESA activities\, and explore how sustaina
ble design practices can become an integral part of future space missions.
\nNo prior knowledge of environmental impact assessment is required. This
introductory training will provide participants with the necessary foundat
ions and an overview of the key concepts\, methodologies\, and tools used
in the field.\n\nThe EcoDesign Industry Days will focus on:\nIntroduction
to EcoDesign and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)\nParticipants will be introdu
ced to the principles of LCA and Ecodesign\, including how these approache
s can support sustainability considerations in the design and development
of space systems.\nEnvironmental policies and regulatory framework\nThe wo
rkshop will provide an overview of relevant European environmental policie
s and regulations for the space sector\, including the ESA Ecodesign Polic
y.\nPractical applications and examples\nParticipants will explore practic
al examples from ongoing ESA activities and discuss how Ecodesign methodol
ogies can be implemented in real space projects.\nIndustry engagement and
collaboration\nThe workshop will encourage interaction between ESA\, indus
try and other stakeholders to support the adoption of sustainable design p
ractices across the space sector.\n\nPractical Information\nDue to venue c
apacity constraints\, attendance will be limited to 100 participants.\nTo
ensure broad representation across organisations\, registration will be li
mited to one participant per organisation. The first registered participan
t from each organisation will be confirmed\, while additional registration
s will be placed on a waiting list.\nParticipants are encouraged to attend
both days of the workshop\, as the sessions are designed to be complement
ary and build progressively throughout the event.\nParticipants are kindly
requested to bring their own laptop\, as the workshop will include intera
ctive exercises designed to support practical engagement with the topics c
overed. \nFor both days\, coffee breaks and finger-food lunches will be p
rovided. On the second day a light breakfast will be provided too. As cate
ring is arranged in advance\, participants shall confirm their participati
on and inform the organisers as soon as possible if they are no longer abl
e to attend\, no later than registration deadline.\nRegistration deadline:
  23rd September 2026.\nKEY POINTS \nDate: 7th & 8th October  2026\nLoca
