Description
Final presentation of a TRP study on Effectiveness of Thermal Vacuum Tests.
ASSET (acronym for “Analysis of Spacecraft qualification Sequence and Environmental Testing”) is an assessment of current status of system-level environmental testing in European space industry and its possible improvements. The objective of the study is to find general tendencies and, possibly, provide recommendations based on actual facts, through the investigation of past testing and flight experience.
ASSET+ is focused on thermal vacuum tests (TVT). It is carried out by a consortium led by Thales Alenia Space (sites of Turin, Rome and Cannes) and including Airbus Defence & Space (sites of Toulouse and Friedrichshafen), in a co-prime technical approach. ASSET+ analyzes the anomalies occurred during thermal vacuum tests on-ground, together with the thermal vacuum test plans and reports and the in-orbit anomalies with an AIV-feedback pointing to Thermal Vacuum test (TVT), with the aim to identify the variables that affect the TVT effectiveness to detect flaws.
