Description
The goal of the activity was to develop and test an Engineering Qualification Model (EQM) for a Preselect Filter working in the Ka-Band. The activity also included:
- A first study to consolidate the mission needs and to get the requirements at filter level.
- A second stage was dedicated to the electrical design of the unit, and confirmation of the simulated results by means of a breadboard.
- After that, a dedicated mechanical analysis was performed.
- Tunability and possibility of a tuneless filter was also checked.
- An EQM was manufactured and tested at qualification levels (including shock vibration), providing successful results and confirming the electrical and mechanical validity of the chosen option.

Mr. Miguel Esteras is a senior RF engineer at Tryo Aerospace since 2006. His current work is focused on filter, multiplexers and helical antennas. He is technically responsible for equipment in commercial programs as well as in development activities.
