Overview

The European Space Agency (ESA) invites industry from the ALPSTAR Participating States (PS) to the Space Segment Industry Day, focused on the definition and development of the ALPSTAR Space Segment part of Element 2 of the European Resilience from Space for Earth Observation (ERS-EO).

ERS-EO aims to define and provide common guidelines about the federated capability layer that connects sovereign systems across national and institutional boundaries through harmonized standards, secure interfaces and collaborative operational models. The overarching goal is to bring national or multi-lateral resources to better pool and share them.

Alpstar project will establish a robust framework for managing and sharing information, prioritizing security and confidentiality. The primary objective is to design and implement a federated system that can effectively integrate various components, ensuring seamless information flow and coordination among different stakeholders. The dual-use aspect aims to leverage from technologies and solutions that can serve both civil and military purposes maximizing the utility and investments made. 

The ALPSTAR project includes the participation of the following states: Belgium, Canada, Latvia, Poland, Slovenia, and Switzerland.

This Industry Information Day will present the planned procurement activity. The event will be online via Webex link.

Objectives

  • Present ALPSTAR mission concept and the space segment preliminary architecture and concept

  • Provide an overview of the Space Segment procurement:  “ALPSTAR Phase A/B1 Study for a bespoke SAR mission with optional ELINT” – Activity 3

  • Provide companies with the opportunity to present their capabilities to the Alpstar team in a B2B settings, after the general Q&A session held in plenary

Bilateral B2B splinter meetings with the Alpstar team will be held in parallel after the Industry Day main event.
These 15‑minute video meetings provide companies with the opportunity to present their capabilities to the Alpstar team.

Target Participants

This event is designed for industrial entities active in:

  • Space systems Primes and Integrators

  • Payload and Instrument Providers, in particular specialized in SAR and RF sensing payload development
  • Platform and Subsystem Suppliers 

Registration

Participation is free of charge, but registrations are mandatory and will close on Friday 19 June at 12:00.

Registration for this event is restricted to entities from the Participating States in Element 2 - ALPSTAR of the ERS-EO Programme. As of today, these Participating States are: Belgium, Canada, Latvia, Poland, Slovenia, and Switzerland. 


By attending this meeting, participants acknowledge and agree that their contact information will be shared among the attendees. This is to facilitate future bilateral meetings and ongoing communication between ESA and individual participants for collaboration and follow-up discussions.
