All FPGAs share several design methodologies, yet each of them faces specific challenges. The anti-fuse FPGAs continue to be highly used in most electronic equipment for space, yet there are other technologies whose use in space has been growing: Flash-based and SRAM-based. The use of COTS FPGA has also increased, especially for space missions with shorter lifetimes and fewer quality constraints.
The aim of the workshop is to share experiences and wishes among FPGA designers, FPGA vendors, and research teams developing methodologies to address radiation mitigation techniques and reconfigurable systems.
The topics related to FPGAs for space are covering (not limited to):
-
AI-Assisted FPGA Development and Verification
-
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning on FPGAs
-
FPGA Design, Verification and Validation
-
Space FPGA Technologies and Device Selection
-
Radiation Effects, Fault Tolerance and Dependability on FPGAs
-
Development Tools, HLS and Design Automation
- FPGA IPs, Design Reuse and Applicable Standards
-
In-orbit Reconfiguration of FPGAs as part of Adaptive Space Systems
-
Performance, Power and Resource Optimisations
-
FPGA Security, Supply Chain and Technology Sovereignty
-
Flight Experience, Lessons Learned and Future Trends
The main FPGA vendors will present updates and will be available for questions. The detailed agenda will be published closer to the event. Presentations from the major design groups are expected.
Details of the registration fee will be provided during the registration process. Registration will open on the first week of 2027. The registration fee will include a welcome pack, three meals during the workshop, morning, mid-morning and after-lunch coffee breaks with snacks, as well as a cocktail reception on the first afternoon.
The Call for Abstracts will open on 7 November 2026, with a submission deadline of 12 February 2027
