The M-IND Initiative – Mid-Size Satellites INDustrialisation for LEO constellations, has as main objective to scale-up production capacity volume for mid-size LEO satellites and as a result reduce cost and lead-time to develop game changing LEO constellation missions.

ESA’s General Support Technology Programme (GSTP) has opened a Request for Information (RFI) to evolve and industrialise Equipment and technology modules for mid-size satellites suitable for LEO Constellations (link to ESA News and LinkedIn-1  and LinkedIn-2 ).

These two links contain the relevant information :

In addition, ESA organises two Webinar sessions with the same content each (one on 31/03, one on 10/04) to facilitate attendance and with the following Agenda:

  • 30 min presentation of the M-IND RFI
  • 90 min of Q&A by stakeholders (Industry, ESA National Delegations)

You need to REGISTER to receive the MS-Teams link to participate in the Webinar. The registration closes the day before.

It is strongly recommended that you read the M-IND RFI Guidelines before you attend the Webinar.

Note that  the OSIP link refers to both (M-IND and SMART-IND):  Certification of industrial processes should be part of SMART-IND.  Products in mid-size LEO satellites that do not require re-design, and can go directly into industrialisation and serialisation should also be submitted directly to SMART-IND.
