Drammensveien 165, 0277 Oslo, Norway
Description
The Norwegian Space Centre, together with the European Centre for Space Law (ECSL), part of the European Space Agency, is organising a legal and policy workshop which will take place on 17 February 2017 at the offices of the Norwegian Space Centre in Oslo, Norway. As the space sector continues to grow, the purpose of this seminar is to take stock and highlight some of the legal and policy aspects of space missions, from the institutional aspects like how these activities are regulated through to questions of liability, the registration of space objects and debris. This is intended to be an informal, introductory seminar to space law and policy. In addition to the topics of the presentations, there will be ample opportunity to network and exchange on other developments in the space sector, e.g. mega-constellations, space mining, suborbital flights and remote sensing. The panel of speakers will include representatives from the Norwegian Space Centre, European Space Agency and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs. As the National Point of Contact for the ECSL, the Norwegian Space Centre is committed to furthering the aims of the ECSL and fostering interest in space in Norway. This seminar aims to provide industry, academia, government, students and other interested stakeholders an opportunity to exchange and engage on these topical areas. There is no fee to attend this seminar. If you would like to register, please complete the Registration section on the left hand toolbar of this page before 15 February 2017. You will receive an email confirmation separately.
