AI@ESA event is a two-day internal event bringing together the ESA AI community and enthusiasts. This event aims at raising awareness on the numerous projects run across all directorates, to discuss future trends and current challenges, as well as promote collaboration. Whether you are an expert, a beginner, or simply curious about AI, this event is open to everyone within ESA with an interest in AI.

Building on our experience from the 1st edition of AI@ESA, this second edition will feature:

  • 30mn deep dive technical talks
  • 4 panels addressing each key domain of the ESA AI strategy
  • 3-5mn lightning talks (e.g., to share an announcement, pitch an upcoming project, advertise a demo or a poster)
  • Demos to showcase internal pilots, new applications, or hardware
  • Posters

The call for contributions will be open from the 5th of January to the 6th of March through this Indico platform. Contributions relevant to one or more of the 4 key domains of the ESA AI strategy are welcomed:

  • AI for mission design and engineering: Leverage AI technologies to enhance the design, and development of space missions.

  • AI for mission operations: Use AI to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, enabling autonomy.

  • AI for insights from mission data: Apply AI to extract insights and knowledge from the vast amounts of data generated by space missions that otherwise would have been hard or impossible.

  • AI for operational efficiency and effectiveness: Leverage AI to provide assistance, automate processes, routine tasks, and facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing across the organisation.
