Description

The Ka-Band LNA programme has resulted in the development of an EM Ka-Band LNA with NF < 2.1 dB at 20C and covers the 27.5 GHz – 31.0 GHz frequency range. A low-loss waveguide-to-microstrip transition design and use of a mHEMT amplifier at the front-end were key to achieving low NF. Substantial progress has been made in developing the techniques to assemble a hermetic cavity containing the low-loss waveguide-to-microstrip transition. This has provided a design from which to proceed to EQM development.
