On the 16th of May, the European Materials & Processes Technology Board (MPTB) is holding a one-day workshop on:

REACH obsolescence risk and supply chain management for space programs

The MPTB is participated by large system integrators, equipment manufacturers, expert companies, national space agencies and ESA. The objective of this event is to establish a communication network between MPTB members and smaller companies, SMEs, and academia, that are involved in hardware manufacturing for space programmes to address the following questions:

  • What are the needs and challenges in the area of materials and processes for stakeholders in the European space sector?
  • How can we improve to share information and feed innovation effectively across the European space sector?
  • Where can the MPTB provide support and how can we establish a functional communication network?

An overview from MPTB level (link) will be provided for general REACH status, identified obsolescence risks at the level of materials and processes and related actions (e.g. coordinated materials and processes replacement and joint REACH authorisation). This includes also supply chain challenges for REACH article 33 declarations. Further the status of joint database development for materials performance data is shown.

Contributions from participants are welcome to understand challenges of European stakeholders for (REACH) obsolescence management for materials and processes, provision of innovative solutions and service for testing and development, or other topical issues of relevance.

The event will be complemented by a general round table discussion.

Participation is free of charge
