ESA invites you to the Space Safety Industry Day 2024.

The Space Safety Programme (S2P) has been established to protect our planet, humanity, and assets in space and on Earth from hazards originating in space. It aims to provide safety from such hazards as a service to Europe and its society.

The Space Safety Industry Day is designed to inform the industry about the plans of the Space Safety Programme for the years 2025-2028. It will take place on November 28th, 2024, at ESOC,  from 9 AM to 9 PM.

The Space Safety team will will introduce both existing and new programme areas with a focus on its planned cornerstones as well as its small missions and projects to respond to hazards through mitigation, prevention, and remediation measures.

The three planned cornerstones of the programme are:

  • The operational space weather mission, Vigil
  • The planetary defense mission, Ramses
  • The ADRIOS (Active Debris Removal and In-Orbit Servicing) missions: Clearspace-1, Rise and Encore

COSMIC, the space safety small missions and projects, includes:

  • Clean and zero debris future
  • Technologies for a growing space traffic
  • Predicting asteroid impacts
  • Space weather services and sensors
  • The competitiveness segment

The morning session will focus on presenting the upcoming space safety plans, while the afternoon will be reserved for B2B meetings with the space safety team.

We look forward to welcoming industry professionals, researchers, and stakeholders to this event to share knowledge, foster collaboration, and drive the future of space safety.
