Join us for the 2nd instalment of IoT4EO Workshops, a forward-looking assembly set to convene at ESA-ESTEC in Newton 2 on 9-10 September 2024.

This workshop is a collaborative effort between the European Space Agency (ESA) and other Space Agencies via IOAGand with key industrial contributions, including Airbus Defence & Space and OHB System with whom ESA has contracts in this specific topic.

The workshop will have a similar format (2 half-days, a social event in the evening, and a hybrid "in-person/online" format) as the 1st instalment in February 2023It aims to present and consolidate the roadmap for standardization and integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) with Earth Observation (EO) satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) that would benefit from seamless and ubiquitous connectivity.

The key objectives of the workshop are:

  • To showcase results that were identified through ESA System Studies for integrating IoT and EO satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) for near seamless & ubiquitous connectivity.
  • To encourage the formation of partnerships, collaborations and multidisciplinary dialogue between space agencies, technology providers, and end-user communities to advance the IoT4EO Ecosystem
  • To present and critique a roadmap for standardizing IoT4EO infrastructure and interoperability to ensure seamless global adoption & integration, to explore and prioritize research and development of prototypes, testbeds, and eventually IoDIoV demonstrators that will drive the next generation of IoT4EO solutions & connectivity to LEO satellites.
