The AI@ESA event is a two-day internal event bringing together the ESA AI community and enthusiasts. This event aims at raising awareness on the numerous projects run across all directorates, to discuss future trends and current challenges, as well as promote collaboration. Whether you are an expert, a beginner, or simply curious about AI, this event is open to everyone with an interest in AI applications.
The event will feature short presentations and panels addressing recent, ongoing, or future activities relevant to one or more of the 4 key domains of the ESA AI strategy :

AI for mission design and engineering - Leverage AI technologies to enhance the design, and development of space missions.

AI for mission operations - Use AI to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations, enabling autonomy.

AI for insights from mission data - Apply AI to extract insights and knowledge from the vast amounts of data generated by space missions that otherwise would have been hard or impossible.

AI for operational efficiency and effectiveness - Leverage AI to provide assistance, automate processes, routine tasks, and facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing across the organisation.
Key dates:
- 2nd December 2024: Deadline for submitting presentation topics
- 18th December 2024: Authors notification
- 6th January 2025: Preliminary program release and registration opening
- 4th - 5th February 2025: Event
There will be no paper publications. This is an internal event and your slides will not be shared externally. Registration is free, and mandatory for both in-person and online attendance. Registration is restricted to ESA staff and contractors (an ESA email address is required).
