Previously SCISYS presented QERx, an open source, faster than real time processor emulator for the ERC32 and LEON2 processor families. The latest evolution of QERx adds LEON3 to the suite of supported processors and greatly extends the feature set, most notably to include the emulation of multicore processors and an enriched cache model, whilst maintaining its faster than real time speed advantage. QERx has been validated using a SPARC compliance test suite, by integrating it into existing the Gaia Operational Simulator, the Earthcare STF, and through direct comparison against the hardware. QERx records a fourfold execution time improvement over the LEON3 hardware and a tenfold execution time improvement over TSIM.
