This public webinar will present the results of the HVI-Robust Spacecraft study, conducted within ESA’s Concurrent Design Facility (CDF).
This collaborative effort explored innovative system-level and technology-level strategies to improve spacecraft resilience against HVIs, a growing concern in the context of space debris and long-term sustainability.
The study focused on two key aspects:
- Protecting spacecraft from impact damage through design and material strategies.
- Minimizing environmental consequences, aligning with ESA’s commitment to sustainable space operations.
In addition to the technical findings, the webinar will also feature a presentation of relevant elements from ESA’s Zero Debris roadmaps, highlighting how the study contributes to broader efforts in impact mitigation and environmentally responsible spacecraft design.
