This presentation highlightes recent advances in Ultra Comm fiber optic transceivers presently designed into and in qualification for space applications in both the United States and Europe. The presentation will show recent radiation results, shock, vibration and thermal vacuum test results. Also the standardization efforts in conjunction with the VITA 79 committee will be discussed
