Description
To make the space sector the leading sector for sustainability, one that is ‘near zero by design’, it must ensure every space company has a regularly-updated quantification of their environmental impact and a roadmap to improve it.
To achieve this, data gathering and analysis must:
- Be user-centred in their alignment with existing working practices
- Integrate with available engineering design, manufacturing and AIT systems
- Minimise the training required for use
- Optimise incentives to stimulate cultural buy-in
- Generate virtuous feedback that inspires design and R&D iteration and innovation
The N0/D LCA digital platform combines the critical building blocks already available by the ESA Cleanspace LCA database with a novel product R&D/production life cycle model derived from the ECSS Product Assurance space standards framework.
Our product's user-centred approach provides a two-phased approach to impact measurement - in terms of an existing concepts' product roadmap and through comparative analysis that helps identify alternative materials, processes and design innovations that can reduce immediate and longer-term CO2e effects.
