Geant4-DNA 2014 Tutorial
Welcome to the homepage of the 2014 Geant4-DNA tutorial.
This one-day tutorial will take place at the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) of the European Space Agency (ESA), that initiated the Geant4-DNA project in the year 2001.
During the tutorial, students will learn how to use Geant4-DNA for the modeling of early biological damage of radiation at the DNA scale. This encompasses the simulation of the physical, physico-chemical and chemical stages of radiation action with biological matter. Combination with geometries of biological targets will also be shown.
The morning session will be dedicated to lectures. A hands-on session will be proposed during the afternoon. Lunch will be taken on site.
Participants are expected to be already familiar with Geant4 and will be provided with a dedicated Geant4 virtual machine. For this, a recent laptop equipped with Windows or Mac and running VMware Player or VMware Fusion will be necessary, as described on this link.
Registration will open on July 1st. Participation is limited to 42 participants. Attendence is free, but participants are requested to take care of their travel and housing.
We look forward to welcoming you to ESA/ESTEC !
