Description

To make the space sector the leading sector for sustainability, one that is ‘near zero by design’, it must ensure every space company has a regularly-updated quantification of their environmental impact and a roadmap to improve it.
To achieve this, data gathering and analysis must:

  1. Be user-centred in their alignment with existing working practices
  2. Integrate with available engineering design, manufacturing and AIT systems
  3. Minimise the training required for use
  4. Optimise incentives to stimulate cultural buy-in
  5. Generate virtuous feedback that inspires design and R&D iteration and innovation

The N0/D LCA digital platform combines the critical building blocks already available by the ESA Cleanspace LCA database with a novel product R&D/production life cycle model derived from the ECSS Product Assurance space standards framework.

Our product's user-centred approach provides a two-phased approach to impact measurement - in terms of an existing concepts' product roadmap and through comparative analysis that helps identify alternative materials, processes and design innovations that can reduce immediate and longer-term CO2e effects.
