ESA Academy Student Sponsorship

🚀 ESA Academy Student Sponsorship Announcement 🚀

The ESA Education Office is pleased to sponsor the attendance of up to 3 tertiary education students at the European Space Thermal Engineering Workshop 2024 (ESTEW2024) under the ESA Academy Conference Student Sponsorship programme. The sponsorship will cover travel and accommodation expenses up to a maximum of EUR 700, reimbursed via a single bank transfer after the event upon submission of receipts.

About ESA Academy

ESA Academy is the European Space Agency's educational programme tailored for tertiary-level students. It equips students with the skills and knowledge necessary for successful careers in the space sector and beyond.

Workshop Objectives

Our workshop serves as a platform for thermal engineers involved in space missions to exchange ideas, share experiences, and explore best practices. We aim to facilitate connections between thermal engineers and developers of thermal technologies and tools. Topics covered include thermal design, analysis, testing, control technologies, and more, with a special focus on small satellites and CubeSats.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for an ESA Academy Student Sponsorship, students must fulfill the following criteria at the time of application:

  • Individually present an accepted contribution at the conference (oral presentation or poster)
  • Be at least 18 years old at the time of the conference.
  • Be a citizen of an ESA Member State, Canada, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, or Slovenia.
  • Be enrolled as a student (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in a tertiary education academic programme (not graduating before the Conference).
  • Not benefit from overlapping financial support to attend this workshop, unless duly justified.
  • Agree with the conditions of the ESA Academy’s Privacy Policy.

Priority Consideration

Priority will be given to students who:

  • Have less than 2 years of professional experience.
  • Have never participated in an activity sponsored by the ESA Education Office.
