Description

Astroscale (Servicer Prime) is working closely together with GMV (Mission and Payload Prime) on CAT: an ADRIOS Cornerstone Mission which aims to demonstrate robotic capture and removal of a prepared satellite using the CAT and MICE Standardised Design for Removal (D4R) interfaces. Feeding directly into ESA’s Zero Debris Charter ambitions to ensure the clearance of space assets, future ESA missions, like the Copernicus Sentinel Expansion missions, are being built with removal in mind and will be fitted with the MICE interface.

In this mission as Servicer Prime, Astroscale is leveraging heritage design from its ELSA-M and UK ADR missions to develop a new class of servicer compatible with servicing larger and heavier spacecraft.

This presentation shall detail Astroscale's development to date following the conclusion of the Phase A earlier this year and progress ahead of the next Phase B1 commencing. We will share further details on the scalable platform design, and the next steps to launch in 2030.

The CAT mission secured member state funding at the last ESA Ministerial Council (CMin25) to take the mission to the implementation phase. As all suppliers are not yet finalised, Astroscale welcomes companies interested in this mission to get in touch following the presentation to find opportunities for collaboration.
